Four students from Year 8, Bex D, Angelique E, Anabel M and Yu-Ting C, took part in the Herts for Learning Maths Challenge on Thursday 7th May. The girls faced some tough questions but were very resilient and worked brilliantly as a team. They faced a wide variety of challenges including problem solving, estimation and a very tricky memory round! It was a privilege to watch the girls working so well together, managing to have fun while thinking incredibly hard.
The girls came second overall out of 80 teams which means they have made it through to the final which takes place next month. Well done girls!

Year 10 Drama Students enjoyed an opportunity to see a live theatre production of their set text Blood Brothers yesterday at BEAM Theatre in Hertford. It was a fantastic chance to see the play brought to life and be inspired by Acting, Direction and Design ideas for their written paper next year.
Good Luck to Year 11 also who sit their exam this afternoon, well done to a few that got themselves to this production also in time for their exam paper today!

Year 12 A Level Drama Devising Exams
Year 12 Drama Students have been working incredibly hard to create their own uniquely devised group performance in response to their textual stimulus from Berkoff’s adaptation of Metamorphosis. This week they presented their performances and now have their final feedback to take into their last refinements and improvements.
Wishing them all the best of luck for their upcoming final performances and written coursework deadlines.

On Thursday, 23rd April, 3 of our courageous Year 7 students, Ayesha Malik, Jessica Earl and Mia Jaworska, attended the Regional Final of the Spelling Bee for German in Cambridge. The competition involved learning the meanings and spellings of 250 German words and then saying as many of them and spelling them using the German alphabet within a minute, in front of an audience in a lecture theatre. All three students competed in the best 49 of an entry of 3706 entrants.
Mia has won a place in the National Final taking place on Tuesday, 23rd June, hosted by the University of Cambridge, which means she will have to learn another 100 words, 350 in total.
We are proud of them all and wish Mia the very best in the final round. Watch this space!

Congratulations to our fabulous rounders players who recently kicked off the season with their Senior tournament at Presdales.
The Year 12s came away with a credible 4th place having been drawn for 3rd, but scoring fewer total rounders.
The Year 11s dominated the afternoon with a fine display of batting and fielding skill resulting in a first place finish.
Well done all!
Football
Huge congratulations to the U15 Football Team, who recently became County Champions for the second consecutive year! In a dominant display, the girls defeated Kings Langley 7-0.
This is a hugely talented squad who continue to perform to the highest levels. They scored 36 goals and only conceded 1 during their journey to become Champions.
It took the girls a little while to get going on a tight and bumpy pitch, but once they found their stride , they started to play some lovely football. The goals started to flow with the girls taking a 3-0 lead into the half time break.
Presdales looked even more assured in the second half, knocking the ball around confidently, creating chance after chance and scoring a further 4 goals.
There were lots of great performances with Captain Ava M leading the team by example. Liv W scored a hat trick and had several assists. Coaches PotM goes to Keira G who was a constant threat and Kings Langley simply couldn’t find a way to stop her.
Goalscorers were Liv W, Florence W, Sienna R, Miley T and Ella R.
Well done to all the girls. I’m super proud of you!

Year 7 have been exploring the vibrant and expressive work of the Fauves, known for their bold and imaginative use of colour. Through this project, students have developed their skills in paint blending and colour mixing, while experimenting with a range of creative mark-making techniques.
Below is a selection of their beautifully designed leaflets inspired by the Fauves – each one a striking celebration of colour and creativity.
Well done, Year 7! You have demonstrated impressive knowledge, understanding, and artistic confidence.
