Safeguarding
The school works in partnership with parents/carers to help and support their child to achieve their full potential and have the best outcomes.
However, all schools have a clear responsibility placed on them by the Children Act 1989 and guidance from the Department for Education to safeguard the welfare of all students. The school therefore works in conjunction with Hertfordshire’s Children’s Services if they believe there is a possibility that a child may be suffering from abuse or neglect and follows Hertfordshire’s Child Protection Procedures.
Presdales’ School has a Child Protection Policy which reflects the latest government guidance on ‘Keeping Children safe in Education’ and a copy of this is on our website in the Policies section. There is also information for parents/carers on Online Safety.
Safeguarding is the responsibility of all staff at Presdales School in order to keep all children safe.
However, our Safeguarding team play a key role. Members of the Safeguarding Team are:
Ms K Chandler, Designated Safeguarding Lead (Key Stage 3)
Mrs E Sykes, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Key Stage 4)
Miss O Turner, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Key Stage 5)
Mrs S Miller, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy Head Pastoral)
Mr M Warren, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Head Teacher)
If anyone has a safeguarding concern about a student, contact should be made with a member the Safeguarding Team. For contact details please see Pastoral Care information.
