Admissions
Hertfordshire Local Authority manages the admissions and entry to Presdales School. The school take part in the Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) co-ordinated scheme for admissions. Please note that HCC will make offers of places on behalf of the school.
Hertfordshire County Council is making it easier for parents and carers to apply for school places. They can offer assistance before, during and after the allocation process. They have also published a ‘Moving on’ Booklet which contains pages regarding the admissions arrangements, supplementary information forms, and other important information about how the admissions process will work. This leaflet is distributed via your daughter’s current school.

You may apply both online or by using the paper application form. Applications close on 31st October 2024.
You may only apply to the local authority where you live. Only Hertfordshire residents may apply using Hertfordshire’s online application system and if you live outside Hertfordshire please contact your own Local Authority.
National allocation day is 3 March 2025. If you applied online and confirmed your email address, HCC will send you an email with details of your daughter’s allocated school. Letters notifying you of your daughter’s allocated school will be posted first class only to parents/carers who applied on paper.
If you are allocated Presdales School, you must accept or decline the school place by logging in to your application and following the online instructions. Online applicants must accept the place online. Paper applicants should return their response form to the Admissions and Transport Team. The last date for accepting the place offered is 17 March 2025. Please be advised that replies go straight to Hertfordshire County Council and will not come back to Presdales School.
Continued Interest List
The Continued Interest List will be created between 3 and 17 March 2025. HCC have advised that applicants with unsatisfied higher preferences will automatically be placed on the list for those schools. For example, if you are offered your fourth ranked preference you will be placed on the Continuing Interest List for any community schools or other schools/academies whose admissions are managed by the county council that you ranked first, second and third. Please contact the HCC admissions team immediately if you do not want your daughter to remain on the Continued Interest List.

This is when a child wishes to transfer to another school outside of the usual transfer time, for example because of a change of address. Please click here for further information.
