The Trust Board

Presdales School converted to a single academy trust on 1 April 2012. The Trust Board operates at a strategic level with a strong focus on setting the vision and direction of Presdales School; supporting and holding Mr Warren, Headteacher, to account for the educational performance of the students and ensuring that the financial resources are well spent.

Trustees are trained volunteers with fixed terms of office for 4 years. Parent trustee appointments are made by election from the parent body of the school and Community Trustees are appointed by the Board. Presdales is fortunate to have a broad range of experience, skills and knowledge with Trustees having several years of practice in other schools, to Trustees who are starting on their Trustee journey. An election for the Chair and Vice Chair of the Trust Board takes place annually. The Committees and full Board meet twice each term and Governance of the school is supported by the Company Secretary who also clerks the meetings.

The Board is divided into two committees: Students and Resources. The remit of the Students Committee is to consider the effectiveness, depth and breathe of the curriculum; matters related to teaching, student learning, achievement and student aspirations. The Resources committee is responsible for both financial issues ensuring that the academy’s allocated funding is well spent, and issues relating to the premises and fabric of the school. The Chairs Committee which includes the Chair, Vice Chair and Headteacher oversee Personnel matters in their termly meetings.

The Trust Board is committed to continuous improvement while working with the school to ensure that the needs of every student is met, and that Presdales School serves and enriches the local community.
