Sixth Form Leadership
We provide a vast number of opportunities for students to take leadership roles within the school.
Senior Student Team
The school elects a Senior Team of students, including Head Boy/Girl, a Deputy Head Boy/Girl and senior students, and their roles focus on both the Sixth Form and school as a whole. In addition, a Head of House is appointed for each of the 6 Houses and these students, along with a Deputy Head of House who is recruited from the new Year 12s in September, will lead the House for the next academic year. Head of House positions are then taken up by the Year 12 Deputy Head of House students in the summer of Year 12 and last for a year. They are regularly asked to represent the school on many varying occasions.
Subject Prefects and Other Roles
Sixth Formers also have numerous opportunities to help elsewhere in the school. We encourage all students to take on an additional responsibility, perhaps as a Subject Prefect, Mental Health Ambassador, Charity Ambassador or Inclusion Ambassador, a new role for this academic year.
School Councils and Sports Opportunities
We also have an elected School Council, with members across the whole school. Many clubs and societies require Sixth Form help and leadership and teachers frequently look to Sixth Formers to help them set up new activities and run clubs. Some students can also develop their leadership through involvement in sports teams, helping out with younger teams or through the Sports Leadership programme.
Head Girl
It’s so lovely to be able to say that I am Head Girl at Presdales this year. Having been a part of the school community since year 7, the kindness and support I have been shown from this school have enabled me to grow into the person I am today and I am so pleased to feel that I can give something back to the amazing staff and students at Presdales in this role.
I am currently studying English Literature, French, History and Russian with a hope to study Modern Languages at university next year. I am so fortunate with the support and encouragement which I have received from my teachers, who have enabled me to be in a position where I am able to look at my future with such excitement.
During my time at Presdales, I have been able to take part in a multitude of extracurricular activities which have helped to grow my confidence and fostered great friendships; the most memorable of these being Bar Mock Trial and Model UN where I was given the opportunity to improve my public speaking and debating skills. I was also lucky enough to be able to take part in the Cambridge Higher Aspirations Scheme which allowed me to explore my passions in greater depth in small group teaching.
I would encourage all students to fully take advantage of all the wonderful extra-curricular activities which our school offers, as you never know where they may lead you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment during my time at Presdales and feel fortunate this year to be supported by such an incredible Senior Student team who I cannot wait to work with.
I am greatly looking forward to everything this coming year will entail and working with all the students and staff across the school for another brilliant year!

Deputy Head Girl
I am delighted to be this year’s Deputy Head Girl and am incredibly excited for the year ahead.
I am currently studying Business, Geography and PE at A level and have the aim of completing a degree apprenticeship after my studies here.
I am so grateful for the opportunities that Presdales has offered me since starting the school in Year 7. To name a few would be – being a part of the school netball team that went through to nationals in 2023, completing the Duke of Edinburgh award and being a Big Sister for a Year 7 form to support their transition from primary school to Presdales.
I would encourage everyone to say yes to every opportunity that comes their way and just give it a go, you might just love it!
Outside of my studies, I spend a lot of my free time playing and coaching netball for Hertford Hornets and believe it has given me the teamwork and leadership skills that will help me make a positive difference here.
I am looking forward to working with Esmé and Zuriel, the rest of the senior student team and the senior leadership team to support students and enhance the positive experience of studying here at Presdales, as well as improving my personal skills.

Deputy Head Girl 2024-2025
Deputy Head Girl
I am thrilled to have been chosen for this year’s position of Deputy Head Girl at Presdales. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with the senior student team to aid the school in the upcoming year. I am currently studying Chemistry, Biology and Psychology at A level and aspire to study Medicine next year at university.
Since joining Presdales there have been numerous opportunities to become immersed in the school community and develop as a person. I’ve expanded my knowledge in the sciences by participating in the Biology Olympiad and the Cambridge Biology Challenge, had the chance to broaden my understanding of various lifestyles and conditions by volunteering at Pinewood and formed deeper friendships when performing in the Sixth Form Revue. The extracurricular activities on offer at Presdales have assisted me in strengthening my social skills and becoming a more well-rounded student overall. I strongly encourage every student to take part in the opportunities available to them and to make the most of their time at this school.
As Deputy Head Girl, I anticipate the academic year ahead and am excited to be in a team of amazing, skilled students where we strive to create a comfortable atmosphere for all the people at Presdales.
