STEM Challenge 3 – Baylab Heart Mechanics Olympics
Well done to everyone who took part in this third challenge. There was an amazing response, over 30 students submitted entries. There were three parts to this challenge:
Design a new Olympic sport that will get the heart pumping
Design a three course meal fit for an Olympic champion
Design your own anatomically correct model of the Heart
The Challenges were designed to test students heart knowledge and promote the importance of science and the maintenance of healthy lifestyles in the fight against cardiovascular diseases. The entries showed great imagination and creativity, from model hearts that had been baked or crocheted to students that had made three course meals. This was the most difficult challenge yet to judge and I must thank the sixth form STEM Ambassadors for their help.
Well done to the winners for each category:
Three course meal
I would also like to give a special mention to Anna Starovoit, Athene Chrysostomou and Grace McMenamin who showed great creativity.
