This year the school voted to help support the charity Herts Young Homeless which offers shelter and support to people left homeless in Hertfordshire. Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity running since 1998, relying on people’s donations to provide free services for 16-24-year olds who face the crises of being homeless. HYH’s mission is to prevent homelessness by empowering individuals to make positive, informed choices, and to support young people and their families, those in crisis and individuals at risk of becoming homeless. As a school we want to help make a difference to these people’s lives to help them avoid homelessness, mental health issues or family disputes. They provide services in mediation, education and other specialist prevention services, with their Health Service being available to people of any age.
