Netball
Congratulations to our U14, U16 and U19 netball teams who competed in the Anne Miles netball tournament last weekend.
The standard of netball was incredibly high and the girls held their own throughout a tough day!
The U19s displayed some brilliant talent and versatility in the group stages. An injury also highlighted the grit, determination and team spirit to continue to produce some hard fought performances – a valiant effort.
Our U16s also started strong in the pool stages, convincingly winning three out of their five games. Some immense defending and wonderful sharp shooting helped to produce some brilliant moments of play. Only a narrow defeat against Sandringham pushed us out of a cup position finishing 3rd in the group.
Our U14s were victorious in all but one of their group games only losing to St Albans High School by two goals. A 2nd place pool finish resulted in a semi-final match against top placed Berkhamsted. A nail biting match that went goal for goal saw Presdales hold strong and take the match 10-9. The only team to beat Berkhamsted all day!
A fantastic squad performance and a place in the County Finals. More importantly, a spot in the elusive East Region Tournament! The next stage of the Nationals tournament awaits – let’s go for it girls!!
Football
A tough test for our U15s in the 1st round of the National Cup this week against a good Herts & Essex team. We started well and dominated the first half to lead 3-1. In the second half Herts & Essex threw everything at us and the next goal was going to be important. Presdales held out despite losing control of the game for 20 minutes and then started to re-assert themselves to score a 4th and make the game secure at 4-1. A good win for the first game of the new season. Goals from Mia Schillaci Rowland, Amy Little, Liv White and Marlee Seymour. Some really good individual performances. POTM is Mia Schillaci Rowland.
Well done girls!
