On Thursday 2nd March, KS3 Book Club participated in some World Book Day activities in the library. We had lots of fun discussing texts, sharing recommendations, designing book tokens, and debating the best book characters!

On Friday 3rd March, in celebration of World Book Day, teachers and Year 7 students dressed up as some of their favourite book characters. Harry Potter, Katniss, Dorothy, Ms Trunchball were just some of the characters that graced the halls of Presdales. Mr Samways even came as William Shakespeare, while Mr Warren was the infamous Batman!
The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week was connection. Students carried out activities during form times where they had to think about what connections were important to them and how these affected their mental health. Our Sixth Form Mental Health Ambassadors ran a task master themed lunchtime club. Challenges included making up a dance, making a self portrait with items that they had found outside and carrying out random acts of kindness.
On Thursday 12th January, one of our Year 10 Russianists treated the class to a seasonal dish enjoyed in both Russia and Ukraine at New Year. It got mixed reviews from the students but was much appreciated by Mrs Willett. To find out more about салат “Оливье” click here.
Well done to all who entered the languages house greetings card competition. It was really hard to judge because the quality of work was so high, and we really appreciated all your effort. All entrants received an R2 for house competition and winners will receive a further house point and should come to language office 2 to collect their prizes.
