Year 12 University Campus Visit!

Last Thursday, our Year 12 students enjoyed an immersive day experiencing university life. This visit offered a wonderful opportunity to break down the barriers of higher education, helping students begin to visualise their futures and map out their next steps.
The schedule was thoughtfully designed to be both practical and engaging. We began with an introductory talk detailing the university’s rich history, its founders, its notable alumni, and its famous appearances on film and TV. This was followed by an interactive Information, Advice, and Guidance session, which tackled the big questions: What is university? What courses are available? How do I apply?
After a guided campus tour and lunch, students took part in an invaluable workshop focused on how to choose the right course and institution. The day wrapped up with a Student Ambassador Q&A, where our cohort asked fantastic, practical questions regarding budgeting, managing workloads, and social life.
We were incredibly proud to receive glowing feedback from our hosts. The student ambassadors praised our Year 12s for being an exceptionally lovely group, highlighting their brilliant engagement and impeccable behaviour.
Our thanks go to the Royal Holloway University team; to Mandy McMahon for organising our visit, to Aimee Chase for the highly informative and inspiring presentations, and to their inspiring student ambassadors for such a warm welcome. Year 12, you were fantastic ambassadors for our school community!
Year 12 Clifford Chance Law Firm Raising Aspirations Day

On Tuesday, 24 of our aspiring Year 12 law students enjoyed a fantastic visit to the international law firm, Clifford Chance London. The day was packed with insight, featuring detailed talks on career paths within a global firm and an introduction to their Early Talent schemes. Students were even treated to a tour of their impressive office facilities, which include an onsite gym, swimming pool, bar, and hair dressers!
A major highlight was the “Career Carousel.” Grouped across five tables, students met with a new set of legal professionals every 10 minutes. This speed-networking format allowed them to connect with nine industry experts, including Clifford Chance lawyers, in-house lawyers from an international investment management business, and our very own former Head Girl, Katie, a Trainee Solicitor at Clifford Chance. It provided an invaluable opportunity to compare the dynamics of private practice with in-house legal careers.
Our students represented the school brilliantly with their enthusiastic and insightful engagement.
