Presdales Equestrian Team
We had a very good turn out from Presdales for the NSEA County Show jumping Qualifier at Bury Farm. We had a new member in the form of Ellen Beesley on Leith Libretto who did two lovely jumping rounds but this time did not manage a placing. We then had Freya Naylor Stewart on Milly, Evie Lodge on Bellab De Verano, Ruby Robinson on Crossword and Ellen as well in a team, all went round a very tricky course but not quite making a place. There were hardly any riders managing to go clear at this competition, it was very tough. Freya then rode Bailey and came 4th in the 90cm class, qualifying as Herts County Champion to take her to Hickstead Championships for the final in the summer against the rest of the country.
In the 1m class, both Evie and Freya took part, Evie had a much better round but it was not her time this time, Freya managed to come 4th against some very stiff competition.
Then last but not least, Ruby Barrs came and did the 1.10m on her new pony Casper, and qualified as Herts County Champion, taking her as well to Hickstead in the summer. Well done girls, keep up the good work!
Thank you to all the effort that the parents go to and the NSEA, and also Ros Naylor for running the team for our equestrians, it is much appreciated.
Football
Year 7
Well done to both Year 7 teams who played Broxbourne School in 9-a-side football matches this week. Team 1 won 7-0 and Team 2 won 14-0. The girls were really impressive, showing incredible enthusiasm and determination throughout. Some lovely football on display and some wonderful goals. Player of the Match, as voted by Broxbourne, were Sienna Goodfellow for Team 1 and Erin Bellamy for Team 2. Brilliant performances by all the girls, well done!
U16s
Presdales U16s football team reached the Final of the County Cup last week with a 5-2 win against Samuel Ryder!
The team played brilliantly throughout, showing incredible energy and determination. The girls played some wonderful football, largely dominating the match and ended up well deserved winners.
Player of the Match was Rimini Lowe and Coaches Player was Amber Leighton with a hat trick and 2 assists. The other 2 goals were scored by Rimini and Amber Madell.
This is the first ever football final for Presdales, so the girls should feel extremely proud of their achievement! Well done girls, so proud of you all. Looking forward to the Cup Final!
Indoor Athletics
On Monday we took a range of age groups to the LVSSA Indoor Athletics Championships at the indoor track at Picketts Lock. Some amazing performances from the girls, great teamwork and excellent spirit. Minor girls (Year 7) and Inter girls (Year 10/11) just missed out on 3rd place but a special mention the the Juniors (Year 8/9) who smashed it in 1st place by just under 20 points!! Overall we finished in …. 1st position! Well done all!
