Football
Year 8
Presdales Year 8s played a football fixture against Chauncy School last week. This was Year 8s first competitive match due to Covid and the girls were very excited!
The match was closely contested, ending 2-2. Presdales peppered the Chauncy goal in the second half trying to find a winner, but couldn’t find the net. As it was their first match together, the girls played incredibly well. They fought for every ball and never stopped running. Great performance girls!
Goal scorers were Ruby Cheshire and Lali Lister – Lali scored with a great half volley using her weaker foot! Chauncy voted Darcy Bennett as POTM well done everyone!
Year 9
Our U14s Football Team lost 7-3 to a strong St Albans Girls School last week, unfortunately knocking them out of the County Cup.
The scores were locked 2-2 at half time in a very competitive ‘end to end’ match. However, St Albans were just a bit more clinical in their finishing and pulled away in the second half.
The score doesn’t reflect how close the match was. It could easily have ended 7-7. Our girls played their hearts out. They never gave up and kept trying right until the final whistle. So unlucky girls, proud of each and every one of you! Star Player was Anastasia Matthews.
