National Poetry Day
To celebrate National Poetry Day, tutor groups were given the challenge to create a poem based on the title ‘The Environment’.
Poems are below:
Let’s stop using plastic,
Don’t throw it in the sea- that’s not fantastic.
Every day waste and waste,
Let’s think more and have less haste.
Day after day we pump fumes into the air,
No thought for the animals- do we care?
Birds flying in the sky,
Let them be, let them fly
Why are we allowing deforestation?
We are killing the whole nation!

Our world is dying
The place where animals and humans live,
There’ll soon be nothing left to give.
Biodiversity was thriving,
But now things are dying.
The world is green and blue,
Soon not to be true,
And this is all down to you.
Our world is dying,
People are crying,
If you feed plastic to the fish,
They’ll poison you and your dish.
Deforestation is being caused,
Our world is being paused.
You’re breaking our heart,
Our world is falling apart.

Polar ice caps are melting
Over the mountains through the snow
Little bears are drowning
All the bears are moving slow
Reaching the end of their lives
But we can do something about it
Everyone can help
Always reduce reuse recycle
Ride bikes not cars
Stop burning fossil fuels

Cascading Rivers of Molten Ice
Cascading rivers of molten ice
Endlessly burning
Freezing
Scorching the land
Converting the earth to a battle field
What has happened to the planet
The planet we all do love?
There is no other place like it
To live upon
Only cascading rivers of molten ice

The Environment
What an exciting place
The gentle breeze turns to winter snow
How it turns from anger to grace
Environment is not just a word
It is beautiful phrases all in one
Mountains, volcanoes even simple trees
Are creations like a daughter or a son
Nature brings us joy
If its rolling in mud, or hugging a tree
It re-charges you in a magical way
That only the power of nature can supply you see

Save our planet
Help!
All it takes is just one bag upon the mighty seas
Come write a speech raise a hand and help save all our trees
All we ever do is show our one world hate
Now please save our planet before it comes too late
The earth has said its calling
The icebergs have been falling
The forests have been burning
That’s only what we’re learning
Why aren’t we making a stand
Helping our land
Making a plan
But we get told and there is no action
We are making a wreck for the generations below
So they can’t see the animals we used to know
It may not be long till the world can take no more
So we need to do something and that is what we’re here for.
