Year 8 Career Insights at Hanbury Manor Marriott
On Wednesday 8th July, nine Year 8 students visited the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club to explore the diverse career pathways within the hospitality sector.
Key Highlights:
Career Pathways: Students attended a presentation detailing employment routes and apprenticeship programmes within the Marriott portfolio.
Behind-the-Scenes Access: A guided tour included live operational demonstrations from the Housekeeping and Conference & Banqueting departments.
Industry Exposure: The visit highlighted careers in finance, marketing, event planning, and food & beverage service.
By hearing directly from industry staff about their career journeys, students gained a deeper understanding of a dynamic sector built on professional development, global travel, and career progression.
Year 12 Mock-Interview Day
On Monday 13th July, all Year 12 students took part in a Mock-Interview Day. 144 students were interviewed by volunteers from a wide range of careers who spoke to the students about their career aspirations, as well as asking questions that are normally included in job interviews.
We are very grateful to current and past parents as well as members of our local community who took time out of their busy schedules to take part in the day. We are also very grateful to Mrs Gray (our Careers Co-ordinator) for organising the day; students commented on how useful it was to talk to someone face to face, and gain interview experience.
