End of Summer Term Events
Careers Trip to Clifford Chance
On Tuesday 15th July, 26 students from Years 10 to 13 who are interested in pursuing a career in Law had the fantastic opportunity to visit Clifford Chance London, an international law firm.
During the visit, we were given insightful talks about the wide range of career paths within a law firm, along with a discussion on the key skills and attributes that employers in the legal sector value most. We also enjoyed a guided tour of the offices and participated in a Career Carousel, where our students learned about a typical day in the life of a Clifford Chance employee. It was fantastic to hear our students asking them a variety of excellent questions. In addition, they heard from a number of dedicated volunteers and lawyers from Citibank who shared their experiences and advice.
It was also wonderful to see our former Head Girl, Katie Adamson, who is now a Trainee Solicitor at Clifford Chance LLP.
Year 8 Careers Trip to Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club
On Wednesday 16th July, 15 Year 8 students set off on a minibus trip to Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club for an exciting careers visit.
The day began with an informative presentation about Hanbury Manor/Marriott, outlining the various routes to employment with them, including their apprenticeship programmes. Following this, students were given a guided tour of the hotel and enjoyed live demonstrations from both the Housekeeping and Conference & Banqueting Teams.
The visit aimed to help students discover the wide range of career opportunities available in the hospitality industry. They learned about roles in sales and marketing, food and beverage service, housekeeping, finance and event planning. Throughout the visit, staff shared their personal experiences, offering valuable insights into the dynamic and rewarding nature of the industry – which is rich with opportunities for travel, personal development, and career progression.
Year 12 Mock Interviews
The goal was to replicate a realistic interview scenario — helping students develop confidence in their communication skills, refine their interview technique, and their ability to respond to related questions.
Following each interview, students received verbal feedback along with a written evaluation, which will be uploaded to their Unifrog account for future reference.
The atmosphere throughout the morning was incredibly positive, with enthusiastic participation from students and high praise from our interviewers.
A huge thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers — their time, insight, and encouragement made this such a valuable experience for our students!
