Years 10 & 11 Careers Assembly

A representative from Sky Studios visited our school last Wednesday to speak with Year 10 and 11 students about the creative industries. The assembly highlighted the available opportunities at Sky Studios Elstree, their Future Talent Programme, roles in television and film, and the skills shortages present in the UK creative industries. Both students and staff were engaged throughout the session and found the presentation to be highly informative.

Lunchtime Career Talks

This half term we welcomed back Katie Adamson, our ex-Head Girl and Trainee Solicitor at Clifford Chance LLP, to present a lunchtime talk to our budding lawyers. Katie provided valuable insights about pursuing a career in Law and offered a different perspective on university life and career options.

It is always a pleasure to see former students return to our school; you are a great role model and an inspiration to our current students.

On Tuesday, Ben Griffiths, Group Communications Director from 2excel Aviation, came into school to talk to Sixth Form students about his career pathway in the Journalism, Media, Marketing, and Business sectors. Ben also talked about working hard, never giving up, being resilient, the importance of networking, as well as the value of work experience.

It was great to have both Katie and Ben in school – it was incredibly kind of them to give up their time to inspire our students!

Parent / Carer Survey

In partnership with our local Careers Hub, our school is participating in the annual Hertfordshire Parent/Carer Apprenticeships and Technical Education Pathways Survey. It doesn’t matter whether you have strong views or have little knowledge of apprenticeships to be able to complete this survey. Some of you may have completed previous years surveys – some questions have been added or slightly amended since last year.

All completed surveys are completely anonymous, and responses will be collated directly by Amazing Apprenticeships who have been commissioned to complete the survey across Hertfordshire. If we receive more than 50 responses our school will receive its own individual report which will be incredibly helpful for us in planning future careers activity for both students and parent/carers.

Thank you in advance.
