Sixth Form Open Evening
Our Sixth Form Open Evening is being held on Thursday 14th November between 6pm to 8pm.
The evening will give you and your child an opportunity to speak to A Level teachers and students about the subjects on offer in the Sixth Form, as well as the different extra-curricular opportunities available. Sixth Form students will be on hand to take you on a tour of the Sixth Form subject areas and answer any questions you have.
There will be speeches in the Hall at 6:10pm and 7:00pm; these will be delivered by Mr Warren, Miss Turner and two current Sixth Form students.

TV Programme on the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2024
Over the summer holidays, the Department for Education launched the new Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers for 2024, during a special live TV programme.
The programme features a wealth of information about the country’s leading apprenticeship employers, case studies & employer showcases, and interviews with apprentices – all of which may be helpful resources to share with your colleagues, Sixth Form students, pupils considering their post-16 options, and their parents.
A recording of the full TV programme is available to watch now – and to help you access the different parts of the programme, these are some of the main highlights:
• details of each of the apprenticeship employers ranked 1-10, 11-25, 26-50, 51-75 and 76-100 in the new Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers and the apprenticeship programmes they offer
• specially-commissioned films of engineering apprentices working at Pendennis Shipyard in Cornwall, apprentices training to become paramedics at the North West Ambulance Service, and school-leaver apprentices at top London hair salon Daniel Galvin
• discussions with apprenticeship employers Cross Country Trains & Leeds City Council and apprentices from Babcock International & Specsavers
• an exclusive behind-the-scenes film of apprentices who worked on the BBC’s election night coverage
• studio interviews with Baroness Jacqui Smith, Minister for Skills, Apprenticeships & Higher Education; Kate Ridley-Moy, Director of Apprenticeships, Department for Education; and Jennifer Coupland, Chief Executive of the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education
The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers is produced by High Fliers Research on behalf of the Department for Education – and the TV programme was presented by Martin Birchall, High Fliers Research and Chanise Evans, a former apprentice & presenter at the BBC.
