Careers Assemblies
Year 10
On Tuesday 4th June we welcomed a representative from Hertford Regional College into school to give our Year 10s an overview of what it would be like going to College, highlighting the differences between Sixth Form and College.
In November, our Year 11s (current Year 10s) who are considering the college pathway, will be taken to visit both the Broxbourne and Ware Hertford Regional College campuses to experience college life for a day. They will spend time in different departments and take part in sessions such as Fashion, Media Makeup and Travel & Tourism.
Year 8
On Tuesday, Jess, from the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, came into Presdales to talk to our Year 8s about what the Air Ambulance does, and also its history, fleet and airbases. She told us who is in the helicopter and what it carries, what the critical care team dispatch process involves and which hospitals they usually fly to.
Jess explained the numerous roles that make the Air Ambulance such a success – from the Pilots and Critical Care Paramedics to the Patient & Family Liaison Officers. She also discussed her role as a Fundraising Coordinator and how she got into the charity sector.
It was really kind of Jess to give up her time for our Year 8 assembly, which was greatly appreciated by our students. They were engaged throughout and they found the presentation very informative – as did the staff!
For Years 11 and 13
