In light of ongoing developments with the Omicron variant and advice to decrease social contacts we have decided that regretfully it seems wise not to hold Speech Day as a live event this year.
Monday 13th December will now be a full day in school (normal 3.25pm finish) for all current students.
We were so looking forward to catching up and celebrating with our former students but we want to continue to minimise the risks within our control and as the event brings in people including those coming back from different parts of the country, on balance it seems like the wiser decision. Unfortunately our venues do not have the space for distancing measures for such a large number of people, even with restrictions on numbers of guests.
We will be in touch again when we have finalised alternative plans to distribute certificates and prizes. We will be sharing the awards booklet and speeches online and will let you know when those go live.
We hope you are not too disappointed and will understand this decision.
Following our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 11th November, applications for our Sixth Form for September 2022 are now open.

School Closure Due to Bad Weather
In the event of extreme weather conditions it may be necessary for the school to close.
We have a School Closure Notification System in place that lets parents know when school will be closed in severe weather conditions. To receive these messages by SMS or email, parents need to register at the following link: https://member.everbridge.net/index/892807736725489.
This link will direct you to the “Sign Up” page where you should click on the “sign up” button located at the top right hand side of the page on the grey strip and from there follow the instructions. It should take no more than 5 minutes to register and you can edit your information at any time should you change your mobile number or email address. Each contact within the system can have 2 devices added for each communication type if they wish to – this means that in addition to adding your own mobile number and email address, you could include the mobile number and email address of a partner or a grandparent in your registration process. They too would then receive any messages in relation to the school’s closure. Alternatively, interested parties could register themselves separately. If you have children at more than one school you can register for those schools too in a single registration process by selecting all schools at which you have children. Once signed up you will receive messages relating to the status of your child’s school.
If you are experiencing any problems with the system, please contact the Everbridge Service Desk who are open 24/7, 365 days per year by using one of the following methods:
We will also let you know about closure on our school website.
