Presdales were represented in the recent U14 and U16 County Badminton finals at the UH Sports Village. The U16s finished 4th overall. Special mention to Paige and Isabelle who were undefeated as doubles pairs across 5 matches!
The U14s finished 1st overall and now progress to the regional finals! Special mention to Charlotte who was undefeated in her singles matches. Well done to all of the girls who took part, there was some fantastic game play on display.
Football
U12s
Our U12s recently faced a strong Beaumont team in the 3rd round of the U12s County Cup. The girls gave everything and never stopped trying throughout. Presdales looked like making a comeback when we started to get more chances and scored to make it 3-1 midway through the second half but the final result was 1-6 to Beaumont. Coaches Player of the Match was Grace Marston. Great effort girls.
U13s
Well done to the U13s Football Team who reached the quarter finals of the County Cup with a 3-1 win against a strong St Clement Danes side.
Presdales dominated the first half and led 3-0 before conceding a goal just before the break. In the second half, we started slowly with St Clement Danes growing into the game and creating a number of chances. Following some formational changes, we re-asserted our control and had several good chances to make the scoreline more comfortable. However, the St Clement Danes goalkeeper was in inspired form and prevented further goals.
In the end, it was a deserved 3-1 win but we certainly made it hard for ourselves in the second half. The girls now progress to the quarter finals of the competition. Coaches Player of the Match was Aleksandra Ivaskeviciute who was outstanding in central defence. Well done to all the girls!
Netball
Congratulations to the Year 11 netball team who won 34-6 against Welsh visiting sixth form college Coleg y Cymooed last week! They played against an older age group and played amazing!! Well done ladies – Star Player was Sophie Wilson.
The Senior netball team also beat Coleg y Cymooed. They won 43-36! The teams were well matched but Presdales fought hard and came out on top!! Well done girls POTM Becky Gee

Strong performance from our U14s on Wednesday winning 9-0 against a good Broxbourne team in the District League. Presdales played some wonderful football on a challenging pitch, scoring 7 times in the second half to put the game out of sight. Coaches PoTM was Willow Storey. Well done girls!
U13s
Great effort from our U13s who narrowly lost 0-1 to Broxbourne in the District league. The match was evenly matched throughout and the result could have gone either way. Due to late withdrawals, Presdales didn’t have any subs. This made it more challenging for the girls but they showed amazing energy and commitment right to the end. Player of the Match was Lily Feast. Well done to all the girls!
U12s
Our Year 7s recently drew 2-2 against GOFFS in the District Football League. It was an extremely competitive game with Presdales leading 2-0 after 15 minutes. We had chances to extend the lead but didn’t take our chances.
GOFFS grew into the game in the second half and scored from a handball penalty to reduce the deficit. Presdales couldn’t convert further chances to extend the lead and GOFFS managed to find an equaliser late on. In the end a 2-2 draw was probably a fair result. PoTM was Ella Reynolds. Well done to all the girls.
Badminton
Well done to our badminton players who played some tough friendly doubles and singles matches against a strong Haileybury team last week. Shout out to Charlotte Wilson who beat the Haileybury No. 1 ranked player in a great singles match!

Great performance by our Year 7s in the first round of the U12s County Cup on Monday, winning 9-1 against Grange Academy. This was the first time the girls had played a competitive match together and they performed brilliantly as a team.
Well done to all the girls, some great performances all over the pitch. PoTM was Ella Reynolds. Looking forward to the next round.
U14s
National Schools Cup – 3rd Round
Dominant performance from our U14s football team on Wednesday 8th against Woodlands School. The girls won 5-1 to go through to the 4th round of the National Schools Cup.
The girls created a huge amount of chances with our goal rarely threatened, but then found ourselves 0-1 behind from a breakaway goal. A tremendous effort from Keira Gale levelled the game and we entered the half time break at 1-1. Luckily the girls were more clinical in the second half scoring 4 times without reply. Two from Liv White and two from Mia Schillaci-Rowland. The second goal from Liv was the pick of the bunch where she slalomed around 4 players before calmly slotting the ball into the corner.
The girls showed great attitude and 100% commitment throughout. Our defence was particularly impressive, remaining calm in all situations and playing the ball out of danger areas confidently. Player of the Match, as voted by the girls themselves was Liv White. Coaches Player of the Match was Amy Little. Well done to all the girls for a fantastic win.
National Schools Cup – 4th Round
Definitely one of the best performances from our U14s football team winning 11-0 against Appleton School. This means we now enter the final 32 of the National Schools Cup.
The girls started brightly, creating several chances and soon opened the scoring. Lots of little interchanges, great wing play, passing triangles and one-twos made it a joy to watch.
At half time, Presdales led 7-0 and it could have been a lot more. Appleton asked to shorten the second half to 20mins. Presdales scored a further 4 goals to win 11-0. Hat-trick from Mia SR and 4 from Liv W.
Great work girls, onward to Round 5! The entire team played brilliantly. Appleton School was very complimentary and extremely gracious in defeat. You were all star players!
Hockey
What a day!!!!!! We headed off to Ipswich on Friday 10th for the next round of the U14 National Hockey Championships. We played some amazing games in the first round, winning 5 and drawing one to put us top of our group! We had Stephen Perce in the final. Once again, they stepped on the pitch and worked the ball around the opposition and into the back of the net twice to give us a 2-0 lead… Perse got one back with 2 minutes to go….. but it wasn’t enough…. finishing 2-1 with Presdales being crowned U14 Regional Champions!!! They go through to the Nationals in February!! Well done girls, it has been a fab day with you all, you have made the PE department incredibly proud!! Star Player was Olivia Holme!
Netball
Senior Netball
Well done to the senior netball team who recently played the next round of the County Plate Competition against Hemel Hempstead. The girls won 54-15 and the PoTM was Flora Rowley. It’s lovely to watch these girls bonding as a new team and play some excellent netball!
Years 10 and 11

The Year 10 Bs won 33-2 and Star Player was Evelyn Pearce, the Year 10 As won 30-12 and Star Player was Darcy Bennett and the Year 11s won 23-14 and Evie Macrae was Star Player.

Rugby
On Thursday 16th November, Mrs Bowden got to spend the afternoon with this group of amazing girls! They have been having Rugby training on a Friday lunch with @juniorsharksrugby @hertsrfu. And on Thursday they played their first contact Rugby tournament at Hertford Rugby club! A few nerves at the beginning and lots of them wanting to start as sub so they could see what it was like, and then the games begin and I can’t keep them off!! Some great team morale on pitch, runs, tackles and tries….we came away winning every game!!!! Opposition included The Nobel School, Hockerill and Birchwood/Priory. Well done girls! You were amazing! Thank you to Herts Rugby!!!
Tennis
Fantastic performance by the U16s Tennis team last Friday who won 5 out of their 6 matches against St Edmund’s College to qualify for the County Final! The girls played some wonderful tennis and were deserved winners against a strong St Eds team. Presdales will now face St Albans High in the Final. Well done girls!

Great performance from our U13s who defeated St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS) 8-0 in the first round of the County Cup. The girls dominated the match from start to finish playing some wonderful football. The POTM was tied between 3 players (voted by the girls themselves). Well done to Aleksandra Ivaskeviciute, AJ Dew and Mae Tallant.
U14s
County Cup
Well done to our U14s who won their first round tie in the County Cup by a resounding 12-1 against Hertswood School. After a bit of a slow start, the girls motored through the gears and completely dominated the match with some fantastic football. Player of the Match (voted by the girls themselves) was Mia Schillachi-Rowland who scored a double hat trick!
National Schools Football Cup
Strong performance from our U14 girls this week in the National Schools Football Cup against City of London Academy winning 10-0. Great performances all over the pitch with some lovely flowing football and fantastic teamwork. Player of the Match (voted by the girls themselves) was Liv White. This means the girls move into the 3rd round of the tournament and will now face strong opponents, Woodlands School in Basildon. Well done to all the girls and we look forward to the challenge of the next round.
U16s
What an epic match against Rickmansworth in the first round of the U16s Football County Cup! Despite almost total domination from Presdales and hitting the woodwork several times, we amazingly found ourselves 0-3 down with less than 15mins left to play! Then came the turnaround of all turnarounds with the girls scoring 4 times to win the match 4-3. The third and fourth goals came in the last 5 minutes, the winner scored with around 90 secs left. The sheer determination, resilience and never say die attitude from our girls was truly admirable. They kept going and kept going until we eventually found the back of the net! Definitely the most dramatic match I’ve been involved in so far at Presdales. Rickmansworth voted Donya Freckleton as POTM, however they were ALL star players today. Well done girls!!

Well done to the U14 Hockey team who played at Oaklands College last week in the first round of the National School Championships for the U14s.
They started off strong with a 2-1 win against DAO, then won 4-0 to Hockerill, then a great 2-0 win against Queenwood, a well fought match finishing 1-1 with Bishop Stortford College, a 3-0 win against Herts and Essex and then a 3-0 win against RMS to finish up the day. This meant they finished the day in joint 1st position with Bishop Stortford, losing out to top spot-on goal difference.
The top 2 teams go through to represent the East Region. So bring on the next round! There was some fantastic play, teamwork and spirit today. It was a pleasure spending the day with you all!

Senior Team
Excellent effort from the senior netball team in their County Cup game last week against Sandringham. Considering it was the first time the girls have played as a team they played really well but unfortunately lost to a very strong Sandringham team 39-27. Player of the Match was Ashley Buckle.
Tournament
Anne Miles Netball Tournament
Massive well done to our U14, U16 & U19 netball teams who competed in the Anne Miles netball tournament on Saturday. The standard of netball was very high and the girls held their own throughout a tough day!
Our U14s were undefeated throughout the pool stage, winning all their games and drawing one meaning they came 2nd in their pool! This meant they played the top team from the other pool in the cup semi final – Berkhamstead. Unfortunately after a close game Presdales lost 13-10. The girls then played Haileybury in a 3rd/4th playoff and unfortunately lost. This meant they came 4th overall!
U14 Player of the Tournament – Amy Little.
Our U16s also started strong in the pool stages, winning all their games except one meaning they also came 2nd in their pool! This meant they played the top team from the other pool in the cup semi final – also Berkhamstead. Unfortunately Presdales lost 18-6. The girls then played STAGS in a 3rd/4th playoff and unfortunately lost. This meant they also came 4th overall!
U16 Player of the Tournament – Sophie Wilson.
Our U19s had some very tough games to begin with and therefore lost 3 games and won 2 in their pool! This meant they came 4th in their pool and therefore progressed to the Shield semi-final. Unfortunately Presdales lost by one goal in a very tight game against Broxbourne and therefore came 7th overall!
U19 Payer of the Tournament – Cara Conway-Baker.
A very tough day but an excellent experience for all of our teams. Hertfordshire always has such a high standard of netball and we are very proud of you all for the level of netball you played and the way you represented Presdales. Onwards and upwards for the rest of the netball season!
Year 8
Well done to the Year 8 A and B netball teams who played against Broxbourne on Monday. The matches were reduced due to the thunderstorm, but that didn’t stop the girls from scoring plenty of goals! The A team won 18-2 and Star Player was Izzy Wilson. The B team won 26-2 and Star Player was Chloe Butler. Well done to all of the girls who played!
The Year 8 team was in action again on Wednesday when they beat Goffs 30-11 in the first round of the County Cup! This means the girls are through to the quarter finals. Opposition’s POTM was Lottie Fellows and Coaches POTM was Sadie Paton. Excellent work girls!
Golf
Lily Hertz in Year 11 competed in a Schools Golf Competition last week. In April, at Royston GC, she played in the mid handicap competition which she finished in the top 10. Finishing in the top 10 on that day meant that she was selected to represent Herts in a triangular team event against Essex and Bedfordshire at Dunstable Downs Golf Course last week. In this event, all ten player’s scores were added up to determine the winner on this event. Unfortunately, on the day one of the Herts players had to drop out due to last minute injury which then resulted in Herts coming third as they only had nine players. Since then, Lily’s handicap has improved which means she’s now eligible to compete in the Schools Scratch Championships on the 18th October. Good luck Lily!
