U12s District League
The U12s B team drew 1-1 against Broxbourne B in the District League last week. This was an end-to-end game and a draw is a fair result.
The girls competed brilliantly and took the lead midway through the second half. It looked like they might hold out for a 1-0 win but a good individual goal by Broxbourne levelled the game with a few minutes left.
Fantastic commitment throughout from all the girls. Coaches PotM is Eileen M.
U12s County Cup
The U12s gave everything against a talented and physically imposing Herts & Essex team in the County Semi Final, but unfortunately lost 3-2.
The first half belonged to H&E who led 1-0 at half time. They dominated the play and arguably could have been further ahead.
Following some tactical and positional changes at half time, Presdales looked much more dangerous and started to create chances. We deservedly equalised to make it 1-1 with a well taken free kick. At this stage, Presdales looked more likely to go on and win the match.
Such is the nature of football, missed chances and mistakes led to H&E taking a 3-1 lead against the run of play. It would have been easy for the girls heads to go down but they showed huge resilience and scored with less than 2 minutes left to make it 3-2. There was still hope! In the closing moments, we had another good chance to equalise but alas it wasn’t to be.
I’ve really enjoyed working with these girls. They are a fantastic group and I really wanted them to reach the County Final. It wasn’t to be, however the girls should take great credit from their performances and attitude. I believe they will go from strength to strength as they move through the age groups and become County Champions in the future.
Thanks for everything girls, you have been a real pleasure to work with. Coaches PotM is the whole team!
U15s County Cup
Congratulations to our talented U15s football team who won 4-0 against Sandringham to reach their 3rd successive County Cup Final!
This was a tough match against a strong and physical Sandringham team. Sandringham had the better of the opening exchanges but once the girls got properly warmed up, they grew into the match. It was largely end to end football with every ball fiercely contested.
We now look forward to the County Final, which will take place at Harvesters FC in St Albans on Wednesday 15th April.
Coaches PotM is Keira G. Thank you also to Liv W who filled in at GK after the unfortunate injury to Ruby U. This really helped the team. Well done to all the girls!
U15s National Cup
It was a case of ‘so near yet so far’ for our U15s who this week lost 4-2 to Shenfield School in the Qtr Finals of the National Cup.
Presdales took a deserved 1-0 lead and really should have gone in 4-0 up at half time, which would have largely put the game out of sight. Shenfield had no shots on target and Presdales looked well in control.
The girls started fast again in the second half creating chances and scored again to lead 2-0. At this point with only 25 minutes remaining, it looked like there would only be one winner. However, as history reveals a 2-0 scoreline is a dangerous one and thus it proved.
Shenfield started to throw everything at us and reduced the deficit to 2-1 with a deflected shot. It still felt like we were in charge, however you could see the girls energy levels gradually dropping. A couple of injuries depleted our levels further and Shenfield started to threaten more and more. Their equaliser to make it 2-2 had a huge stroke of luck as it went straight in from a corner.
With around 5 minutes remaining we conceded a penalty which Shenfield converted to take the lead in the match for the first time at 3-2. Unfortunately, there was no way back and Shenfield made it 4-2 at the death to put a glossier look on the scoreline.
The Shenfield teacher was full of praise for Presdales at the end of the match. He said he felt we were the better team and that his side were fortunate. Certainly, Presdales were the better team for a large majority of the match, however Shenfield are perennial National Cup finalists and winners for a reason and their ‘never say die’ attitude ultimately got them over the line.
I’ve got nothing but praise for our girls. The game was in the palm of our hands only to be cruelly swiped away. Luck was against us. As the saying goes, ‘that’s football’.
I’m so proud of all of you. You worked tirelessly and deserved to win. Coaches PotM is the whole team.
Netball

Thank you to Herts County U15 squad for hosting our U14 National finalists last week. A fabulous session that tested our players, and put them under pressure to raise their game – just what we need in the build up to Sheffield. Great work team!
