Year 8 PGL Maths and Team Building Trip

Year 8 went on a 3 day residential trip to PGL site Little Canada on the Isle of Wight. After the difficulties of the last 18 months it was lovely to see (and hear!) the girls having so much fun!

They behaved so well, had a go at the challenging activities that they were faced with, made new friends, worked well as a team, got muddy and above all had the most amazing time.

The teachers who took them said how proud they all were to be part of the trip and the PGL instructors were impressed with them throughout.

They collected data from some of the activities and they will look at this back in school to do some more work in their maths lessons.

Thank you to the girls, their parents and the staff who went for making it such a memorable trip.

What our students thought of the trip …

It was very fun and I had a wonderful time. I especially liked the sensory trail even though we all got very wet and muddy and I screamed for lots of it!

The Isle of Wight trip was a great experience and gives you a chance to communicate and make friends with your classmates.

This trip was really fun! I got to do things I would never normally do. I had the best time!

The activities were amazing! I loved doing the archery especially 🙂

The Isle of Wight trip was really fun. There was not a second when I regretted something or wished I didn’t come. It was my first proper stay away from home without my parents and it was a delightful stay. Would definitely recommend going.

It was really fun! I really enjoyed it, being with friends and meeting the instructors! I learnt many more things than I knew before! Once again, great fun and would 100% want to do again!! Thanks so much for organising it!

Made me push myself to the limit and made me enjoy the trip so much more!

It. Was. AMAZING!!! It gives you a chance to conquer fears, try new skills and make new friends! 11 / 10!!!

I loved the food.

It is really fun!

I enjoyed the trip and it gave me an opportunity to get closer to some people that I wouldn’t normally talk to, and realise what funny and interesting people they are.

hello, I thought the trip was amazing, great activities, yummy food and the camp leaders and helpers were some of the nicest group of staff I have ever met.

The trip was a great experience for me because I was able to have mini sleepovers with my friends for the nights we stayed. I also got to know the people better in my activity group.

I really liked the trip as during it you were very independent. All the activities were very fun (but a bit muddy) and my favourite one was climbing.

It’s really good the staff and the teachers were amazing.

The leaders of PGL are the nicest people ever.

Hello, I thought the trip was absolutely amazing I really enjoyed all the activities , and all the people running it were so nice.

The staff at little canada were super kind and encouraging and would always help you if you needed it.

Who knew *maths* could be so fun?

Such a fun experience! The PGL staff were lovely aswell!

We made amazing memories, new friends and learnt new things.

I really enjoyed the activities and the instructors were really nice.

I really enjoyed it and I must say the climbing was my favourite part. There was always something you could eat at every meal so I wasn’t hungry and all of the instructors were extremely kinds and supportive.

This trip helped me come out of my comfort zone with so much support from others by helping do activities I would normally say no to.

I had the best time and the activities were so exciting.

I really enjoyed the trip, I made so many memories and had so many laughs!

The trip to the Isle of Wight was an excellent opportunity to push our boundaries and try out new things. It was extremely fun and I would love to go again.

The trip was so much fun and I loved every second. Yes, some of the activities were challenging but that just made it feel so much better when I completed them. Thank you Mrs Share, for organising it!

Exhilarating – Challenging – Bonding – EPIC!

The trip was very fun and there was a lot of great activities.

It was really good fun you get to try new activities and try stuff you get to go on a boat I recommend going.

It’s really fun with all the activities and the food was good and the ferry was a really nice time.

It was so much fun. It pushed me to do things that I might not have wanted to do if it wasn’t for my friends, staff and pgl members.

It is a really good trip but you might be disappointed if you aren’t with your friends in a cabin but you might be with them for activities.

The food was ok, the activities were quite good but the facilities were not so good. Overall, it was great!

I really enjoyed pushing myself to try new activities and building relationships with my friends.

It was great and I personally loved it hope you all enjoy it to.

Have fun and push yourself do all the activities or you will regret it.

The trip to the Isle of Wight was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend going in year 7, you do really super activities while you are there, on one night we played Cluedo. During the day, we did abseiling, archery, problem solving and obstacle course. We also did survival, sensory trail, trapeze and climbing! On the first night, the night activity was around the world. There was a large variety of food to choose from, the food was really good. Thank you to all the teachers who made this trip possible, it was spectacular.
