Welcome to Year 7 at Presdales School
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to the Presdales community as they prepare to begin their journey into Year 7 this September. This is a special and exciting time – a chance for students to embrace a fresh start, meet new people, and begin discovering all that secondary school has to offer.
At Presdales, we are proud to be a school that not only values academic excellence but also places great importance on personal growth, kindness, and community. Our aim is to nurture a year group culture that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive – where every student feels a sense of belonging and is encouraged to be their best self.
In Year 7, we place a particular emphasis on the school value of Kindness. We believe that kindness is the foundation of a strong and caring school community. Through small, everyday actions, students can help one another feel welcome, build new friendships, and create a positive environment where everyone can thrive.
Throughout the year, we will support students in developing essential personal skills such as independence, resilience, and organisation. We’ll encourage them to work hard, show respect to others, and take increasing responsibility for their learning and achievements. Our dedicated team of form tutors will be there each day to guide and support them, helping them to settle in and succeed.
Presdales offers a wealth of opportunities beyond the classroom. From sports and performing arts to clubs ranging from robotics to jewellery-making, there is something for everyone. We expect all Year 7 students to take part in at least two extra-curricular activities each week, as we know these experiences help build confidence, spark new interests, and form strong friendships.
My team and I are here to work in partnership with you to ensure your child feels safe, supported, and inspired throughout their time in Year 7 and beyond. We’re excited to see them grow and flourish over the coming years.
