On TYDTWD I went to my step dad’s work in Letchworth. He works in an office.
Who did you meet?
I had a meeting / talk with a few of the colleagues such as the Marketer, Chief Executor and the Charity Manager. The Marketer talked about what her job includes and what her job covers.
What did you do?
I talked to the colleagues about their roles and the negatives and positives of their role. I went to the different venues that they run including art gallery, cinema, farm.
What did you learn?
I learnt the inside and outs of each role and learnt that every job has challenges no matter how much you enjoy it.

For take your daughter to work day I went with my godmother, Jenna Burke, to experience a day in the clothes and fashion industry. She works for Hela Clothing (Sri -lanka) and is the buyer for this company. We went to the office in the morning and met some of Jenna’s colleagues. We talked about the newest trends, styles, colours and shapes of clothing. They were working on a project for Spring 2023 toddler girls and talked about their thoughts and ideas. After we went shopping to buy clothes for inspiration of the newest trends and styles and bring them back to the office later on in the week. I learnt and developed my knowledge of fabrics and fibres and learnt new keywords and skills and enjoyed my day altogether. It was very intriguing and interesting, I never got bored. I also enjoyed spending the day with my godmother.

On Take Your Daughter to Work Day, I went to my Dad’s Primary School in Milton Keynes, where he works as the Headteacher. I started the day in his office organising the children’s reports so that the names match. I then worked in the main office until lunch. In the main office I labelled report envelopes and then placed the reports in the correct envelopes; I also did some photocopying. At lunch, I handed out the right colour wrist bands to the kids so they get the right food. After lunch, I joined Year 2 to help them with spelling and phonics. I then went outside for two PE lessons, helping the children with their tennis skills. At the end of the day I sat and watched the celebration assembly.
