PGL Maths and Team Building Trip
Year 8 went on a 3 day residential trip to PGL site Little Canada on the Isle of Wight. It was lovely to see (and hear!) the girls having so much fun!
They were a credit to the school and their families, coping with the bad weather and tough challenges, showing great determination and resilience. They tried new activities, made new friends, worked well as a team, got wet and above all had the most amazing time.
The Presdales staff who took them went above and beyond to give them a great experience and some fun memories. They also said how proud they all were to be part of the trip and the PGL instructors were impressed with them throughout.
They collected data from some of the activities and they will look at this back in school to do some more work in their maths lessons.
Thank you to the girls, their parents and the staff who went and those that helped to organise it for making it such a memorable trip.
Some quotes from the trip …
“It was a really fun and enjoyable trip as I faced my fears doing activities I wouldn’t often do.”
“I really enjoyed it because I was able to push myself and discover that I’m good at lots of things that I wouldn’t normally do.”
“The trip was really fun and I would do it all over again.”
“It was a great trip. I loved staying in cabin, the activities were so fun and the food was amazing.”
“I really enjoyed this trip, although it was quite short we managed to fit in so many fun activities such as abseiling, climbing , ziplining and problem solving. We enjoyed a wide range of food and we had a great coach ride there and back and the ferry was so fun! Thanks for a great trip.”
“The trip was really fun and helped me get over my fear of heights. The workers didn’t force us to do things we didn’t want to, but encouraged us to give it a try because they told us we wouldn’t regret it.”
“I enjoyed all of the activities, especially the climbing and the abseiling. The staff made all of the activities interesting by doing random stuff. Thank you. Thank you to everyone who put together such a great trip.”
“Going to the Isle of Wight opened my eyes to all the adventures I can have outside of my living room, some of the activities I had done and some were completely new, but either way I got better at them, really put my self out there and had fun whilst doing so. I tried all of the activities even if I was a bit nervous at first and in the end I left wanting to do it again. To be honest, some activities I thought would be a bit boring, but I was wrong, for example the beach walk, I really enjoyed making sand art and being creative with the differed materials I could find on the beach and also finding the Isle of Wight blue, which distracted me from the cold and gave me the quest of finding something truly valuable, but also showing me what else I could do when I am out and about, and not just follow the same routines.”
“It was amazing and fun experience that provided memories for a lifetime.”
