Presdales supporting ‘Beat Eating disorders’ :
Non-Uniform Donations
Friday 22nd October 2021 is our first non-uniform day
We are pleased to inform you that the students voted overwhelmingly for this year’s charity, ‘Beat Eating Disorders‘.
Beat Eating Disorders Charity was founded in 1989 as the Eating Disorders Association. Their mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. Anyone can have an eating disorder and they want to raise awareness and help those who might be suffering in silence.
Sixth Form Charity Ambassadors have already promoted this charity to all year groups in assemblies and they are in the process of organising fundraising events. The proceeds from our non-uniform days will be divided equally between Beats and the School Council who use funding for the benefit of all students in the school.
We are requesting a voluntary donation of £2 / student. Please login to your WisePay account and navigate to ‘General Products’ to make a donation. If possible, £2 donations should be made in advance via WisePay. However, cash will be accepted by form tutors from Wednesday next week.

Students can collect a box of LFTs from outside the main office.
Parents Association – Help needed!
We are looking for some help with either of the following:
1. Are you able to contribute a prize for our Christmas Raffle? In the past, we have been fortunate to receive contributions from parents which have been given as prizes to help raise money for the school. These could include tickets for events, vouchers, hampers etc.
2. We also need more volunteers to become involved in the Parents Association to support the school. What this will involve is help organising social events and fun evenings for parents and students to raise money to support the school.
If you are interested in helping with either of the above, please complete our survey.
World Mental Health Day 10 October 2021
As October is the month we mark World Mental Health Day, The Mental Health Support Teams are asking our students to help create a logo for the service. The team provides one to one and small group wellbeing support to students and information sharing workshops to parents/carers.
The winning logo will be chosen based on what the teams think best represents the service, in the most eye-catching and appealing way for other young people. There will be a wellbeing pack prize for the winner. The winning logo (or an adaptation of the concept) will be used on all communications for the service.
Entries should be submitted to our Mental Health Lead, Mrs Miller, and should include the student’s name, school year group and contact details. Please email entries to SMiller@presdales.herts.sch.uk. Closing date for submissions is Friday 29th October 2021.
There is also a local podcast you might want to listen to about young people’s mental health and wellbeing, the podcast (episode 12) is available here: Jack To The Future podcast | Herts Mind Network Children and Young People (hertsmindnetworkcyp.org)
Further information on how to support your child with their mental health and wellbeing can be found on our Student Wellbeing site, which can be accessed clicking here.
The Sixth Form Mental Health Ambassador wellbeing lunchtime drop in sessions begin next week, all information regarding these sessions are advertised on your childs’ form noticeboard and on EduLink.
