Congratulations to the cast, crew and band for your excellent performance in this week’s production of Bugsy Malone! The students performed four shows this week, each receiving great applause and high praise. There was such a fun and positive atmosphere for each performance and the students commendably gave 100% energy to each production!
A special mention must be made to our leading lady, Chloe Evans, who impressed all who worked with her over the last six months of rehearsals; she has been a true professional in every way. Chloe plays the protagonist Bugsy Malone with a perfect accent and charisma to charm all around her. Her love interest, Blousey, was performed by Ella Jauncey who delivered a number of solo performances beautifully; Ella captured Blousey’s vulnerability so well. Tallulah, mixing things up for Bugsy with Blousey, was performed by Pheobe Sabin who dazzled with her showgirls and delivered her sassy wit to many deals going down in Fat Sam’s Speakeasy. Rival gangs were led by Mimi Whetstone as Dandy Dan and Emilia Bolton as Fat Sam. These two challenged one another but both their gangs comically often let their threats down! The production showcased performers from Years 7 to 13 and students commented on what a fun experience it is working on a production across year groups. The whole production was student-led with sixth formers managing lighting, sound, crew and our wonderful live band! The final night definitely brought the most splurge attacks – hope you have all removed silly string and cream!
Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support the show, wishing all involved a restful half term!
Miss Mack, Mrs Hardiman and Mrs Cooper
