Well done to the Year 7’s who competed at their first Presdales fixture last week. They ran the cross country at Chauncy and did so well in the heat. The girls came 1st overall!!! A massive well done to the Year 8 netball team who WON their game against Berkhamsted in the first round of the county cup! They played amazingly well as a team to win 30-11. Also a huge thank you to Evie for excellent umpiring. The following Year 8 girls have been selected for the U13 Hertfordshire County Netball Academy this season (2019/2020): Lucy French in Year 11 attended her first equestrian show for Presdales on the 28th July at Bury Farm, Leighton Buzzard. She came 3rd in her show jumping class, qualifying her for the NSEA Grassroots Championship in November. Well done Lucy, another great representative for the school! Good luck in November. Our brilliant Equestrian Team ventured to the hallowed grounds of Hickstead, East Sussex, in the summer holidays having qualified for this competition back in March. In our 1m Hickstead Elite Class, we finished just outside the placings in 9th place, out of 18 teams from schools who had qualified to get there across the whole country, some as far as Northern Ireland! Only one team managed to get 0 faults. Our team were a really classy act and held their own, really well done girls. Last weekend, Millie Lynch (Year 7) competed in the Essex Regional Level 4 competition coming 2nd on vault, 6th on bars and 7th overall! This is an amazing achievement against lots of gymnasts. Well done, Millie! Teah Gregory (Year 7) took part in the Herts County Level 4 Artistic Gymnastics Competition last weekend. She had solid performances on all pieces coming 2nd on the bars and 1st on the floor and winning the Edgegrove Cup for the highest floor score across all ages! Teah finished 6th overall. Congratulations … what an amazing achievement! Megan Hughes (Year 7) is a member of Welwyn Wheelers Cycling Club who are based at Gosling Park. She regularly rides twice a week. In the summer she rides on the track on the outdoor velodrome and during the winter the club switches to cyclocross. Ella Richardson (Year 9) recently competed in the British Open Karate competition in Glasgow. She performed her Kata and did extremely well in her category and managed to complete two rounds of Kata before being knocked out! Well done Ella, this is a fantastic achievement. Jasmine Braddock (Year 8) has been Cheerleading with Herts Allstars since September last year. She has been working hard all year winning many competitions and has been chosen to represent Herts Allstars in two teams – Herts RE1GN at International Senior Level 1 and Herts Intensity at International Junior Level 2 in The Summit Competition in Orlando April 2020! Well done Jasmine, what an amazing opportunity! Charlotte Slack (Year 9) was very busy competing this summer in tennis competitions!Cross Country

Cara Conway-Baker, Rebecca Gee and Violet Faber.
A total of 170 girls trialled so a great achievement to have been selected. Good luck girls with the programme and all future fixtures representing your County. Congratulations!Presdales Equestrian Team
Our 1.05m Senior Schools Championship class had a nail biting 1st round, where Ruby Barrs stepped in to do the jump off for the team and won our place in the main International arena. Ruby and Hannah had a great clear in the second round. Hannah was an amazing 5th, Ruby was just out of the individual placings and our team came 9th in the end out of a whopping 25 teams. Well done girls, this is brilliant. We look forward to hearing about your successes this year.Gymnastics
Cycling
This is Megan’s second year in the under 12 category in the Eastern Cyclocross league. Cyclocross is usually very muddy! The races involve a short 15 minute course which varies depending which club is hosting the race. The courses are always grass and some of them may include various obstacles along the way. This may be a set of steps or some hurdles, which the rider may have to lift & carry their bike over.
Welwyn will be hosting a cyclocross event on the 13th October. Everyone is welcome and can enter via the British Cycling website.
Recently Megan came 3rd in the Eastern League Cyclocross race at Chelmsford. Well done Megan, this is amazing and fantastic to see another sport participated in!Karate
