Entry requirements: GCSE grade 4 in English Language or English Literature
Component One: Varieties of film and filmmaking (examination 35%) Section A: Hollywood 1930-1990 (two-film comparative study) Component Two: Global film-making perspectives (examination 35%) Section A: Global film (two-film study): one European and one produced outside Europe. Component Three: Production (coursework 30%) 1. a short film (4-5 minutes) or a screenplay for a short film During the course students will study some of the following films, for example: All assessment is completed at the end of the course and is by examination and coursework The subject develops a wide range of critical, analytical and creative skills which are useful in many careers. It is therefore an excellent preparation for any Humanities, Arts or Science subjects at university.
