Dear Parent/Carer

It has been a busy few weeks in school, with a number of parent's consultation evenings and the Year 9 options evening. The senior leadership team have been meeting with all Year 9 students to discuss their aspirations and their potential option choices. It is always a pleasure to spend time speaking to our students on a one to one basis. The options evening was very busy, with students and parents exploring the wide range of subjects that we offer at GCSE. It is an exciting time for the Year 9 students as they select the subjects that they will study for the next two years.

Throughout this week our main school assemblies have been based on the Holocaust Memorial day. I have been so impressed with how the students have responded to each assembly, listening intently to the message that Mrs Inwood gave. Whilst I wasn't able to attend the Year 10 and Year 11 year group assemblies, I was informed that they were both outstanding, particularly as they were both student led. It was lovely to hear so many names read out in the Year 7 assembly for students who received more than ten reward points last week, with many receiving more than twenty. Fantastic effort Year 7!

We have received guidance information from HCC Public Health regarding the Novel Coronavirus. At this stage, they are advising that we all follow normal hygiene measures e.g. use disposable tissues and throw them away after one use, washing hands regularly with soap and water and avoid touching your face unless you have washed your hands. We will keep you posted if this advice changes.

Kind regards
Matt Warren
