Welcome to Year 8
Dear Parents and Carers,
I feel privileged to be able to able to remain as your daughter’s Head of Year along with the rest of our superb team of Form Tutors as the year 8 pastoral team has moved up with the year group. We will continue to work together to support her through the next stage of her Presdales journey.

It is the role of the Year 8 pastoral team to support Year 8 students in order that they progress and achieve their full potential across the curriculum.
We expect Year 8 students to play a very positive and active part in the school community and for them to continue to try their very best with both academic studies and in extra-curricular activities. Each year group has a school value to focus on and in Year 8, this will be creativity. I’m looking forward to seeing our Year 8 students in action, following this theme. There will be house events and year group challenges for the Year 8 students to get involved in throughout the year. Each form will also be creating and delivering assemblies to the rest of the year group on important themes.
I was extremely proud of our year group last year of the way that they adapted to school life during the pandemic and school closures. Every one of them demonstrated resilience and maturity despite their young age. This year, Presdales is back up and running how we like it to be and I hope that our Year 8s make the most the opportunities that we are fortunately now able to offer.
