Summer School
Summer school was offered to all prospective year 7 students.
152 students attended during week.
Morning session 1 activities:
· Assemblies
· Tours
· Team building activities (Picture quest, the evolution game, human knots, on the bank – in the river)
Morning session 2 activities:
· English (Writing, reading, vocabulary)
· Mathematics (Shapes, numbers, Measuring)
· Science (Microscopes and problem solving)
· Language’s (Vocabulary and speaking)
Lunch time:
· Lunch was provided for all students
· Picture hunt around the school – with prizes for those who cracked the code
· Chats with the sixth formers
· Tennis, football, netball, and other self-run sports
· Code club – where they were able to create SCRATCH animations
· Other activities in the summer school booklet
Afternoon session:
· Sports (Netball, Rounders, Swimming, Athletics, Football, Ping Pong)
· Drama (Acting out a short play)
· Music (Group singing, which was performed at the end of summer school assembly)
· Science (Water rockets, gliders, and a session on how to care for mice).

We received a bursary of £40,781.41 from the government to run summer school.
