The Model United Nations (MUN) programme offers students a chance to participate in debate on current world issues. Haileybury School hosts its own MUN conference in March each year, which Presdales Sixth Form students attend. It welcomes over 600 pupil-delegates from across the world and delegates have to operate on a range of levels. They have to research, they have to develop the social skills of the effective lobbyist, and they have to present their ideas in a demanding debating forum. The MUN programme gives pupil delegates confidence and develops abilities which they had never dreamed they possessed. They also enjoy the opportunity to meet other young people from across the globe.
