The Psychology Department at Presdales School aims to create critical thinkers who are able to apply psychological knowledge to the wider world. Students will be inspired to be inquisitive about human behaviour and decision making. They will have the skills to reach their own conclusions about the reasons for human behaviour and ensure they are objectively supported by appropriate evidence.
A balanced view is encouraged at all times, and an open-minded, broad appreciation of human differences is essential to accessing the foundations of psychology. Students will understand the importance of current affairs and therefore be motivated to engage in wider reading in order to support their application of Psychological knowledge to analyse and explain behaviour.
Psychology students at Presdales School will accumulate an impressive array of skills, including critical thinking, designing implementing and analysing their own research and reaching justified conclusions.
Provide all students with a worthwhile educational experience through well-designed schemes of work and own experimentation.
To inspire all students to challenge their perceptions and stereotypes of human behaviour.
