Travel & Tourism (BTEC Level 3) – National Extended Certificate
Entry requirements: GCSE grade 4 in English Language or English Literature and Mathematics
This course is for those wishing to learn about the Travel & Tourism industry as part of a balanced programme of A Level and/or BTEC study.
Students are required to complete 4 units. 2 of these units are mandatory (83%) and 1 of the units is externally assessed (58%).
It is a two year programme equivalent to one A Level.
Two units are assessed externally and are likely to include:
- The World of Travel and Tourism
- Global Destinations
Two units are assessed internally and are likely to include:
- Managing the Customer Experience
- Events, Conferences and Exhibitions
A variety of trips and visits will be organised, some of which will be compulsory.
The skills gained during this course will help to prepare you for Further or Higher Education. It will be particularly relevant for progression to travel, business or management related degrees.
