Intermediate Maths Challenge
A total of 159 girls form Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in the Individual Intermediate Maths Challenge this February.
50% of our students received Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates, compared to the national average of 40%, with 9 GOLD, 26 SILVER and 45 BRONZE awards.
6 students have been invited to take part in following round competitions because of their high scores.
These are Eleanor Mackay (Year 11) and Matilda Pitt (Year 10) who will participate in the European Pink Kangaroo, and Alyssa Stein, Grace Farrell, Katie Egerton and Daisy Dewson, all in Year 9, who will compete in the Grey Kangaroo later in March.
Year 7 Hertfordshire Maths Team Challenge
This year, again, we entered two teams of four girls each for the first round of the Year 7 Hertfordshire Maths Challenge in February 2016. They were placed first and fourth in the Heat and so we had one team through to the final this year. This took place at Robertson House in Stevenage and our girls enjoyed the challenge, coming a very respectable 4th place out of about 20 teams. Congratulations go to all the Year 7 girls: Iona Dixon, Kitty Morton, Evie Reilly and Emily Mayes.
